Carl Yeakel's grandfather, Philip  Jackel (Yakel), (Jeckel and Yeakel Alton descendents) (Yeckel was used by some  of the St Louis descendents) came from Germany in 1836 and died in Alton Illinois  in 1854. 
Carl's sisters: (Lenora) Mrs. Joseph  Pfeffer, Miss Lillie, Mrs. Emma Links (313 Henry Street). All sisters resided in Alton Illinois. Mary Louise Gissal Mann great great granddaughter of Philip Jackel wrote regarding the changes in the family name for the historic registry in December 1982.
